My name is Cassandra Ballew, better known as Mrs. Ballew for the last 10 years of my life. This is my 5th year as a 1st grade teacher here at Hawthorn! I enjoy outdoor activities with my family. I love camping, hiking, and taking road trips. I also love to paint and craft. I moved to Utah from New Mexico about 6 years ago. While living in New Mexico I obtained my degree in Early Childhood Multicultural Education from UNM. 

My hope is to ignite a lifelong passion for learning in each child, encouraging them to explore their interests and develop a love for knowledge. At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the belief that every student has the potential to excel when given the right support and encouragement. I am looking forward to a successful year full of laughs, special moments, and academic growth!
