Candido Jessee Abeyta is a saxophonist and music educator from West Jordan, Utah, who began playing at age seven and quickly developed a deep passion for music. Influenced by jazz greats like John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, and Sonny Rollins, as well as artists across soul, R&B, hip-hop, and rock, he has built a versatile and dynamic career.

With over 15 years of professional experience in the Salt Lake Valley, Candido has shared the stage with artists such as Black Pumas, Charlie Puth, Carrie Underwood, Leon Bridges, and Fitz and the Tantrums. He is also the first-call saxophonist for the pop group Neon Trees.

Known for his adaptability, multi-instrumentalism, and improvisational skill, Candido is an in-demand live and session musician, contributing to hundreds of recordings across TV, film, and major artist projects. His work is featured on Neon Trees’ 2024 album Sink Your Teeth, including tracks like “Bad Dreams,” “Cruel Intentions,” and “Heaven.”

In addition to performing, Candido is an active jazz clinician throughout Utah and holds both a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s in Jazz Performance and Composition from the University of Utah.
